Educational Philosophy

Secular

What does it mean for an education to be secular? A common answer is that it's unaffiliated with any religion. At Enrichment School, we mean secular in a broad sense. Anything outside of education is not something that concerns us. Not only are we not affiliated with any specific religion, we are not beholden to any educational fads or social agendas. We just want to teach.

Socratic

Because we believe that there are no shortcuts to achieving the mental discipline and critical outlook that education fosters, we have chosen to teach with the Socratic method. The Socratic method requires high engagement from both students and teachers to achieve a productive dialogue. If your child is selected for admission to Enrichment School, then congratulations! That means that you have our firm confidence that your child has what it takes to thrive in a Socratic environment. Already knowing what the Socratic method is or being curious to learn is a strong indicator that you're raising a child that will fit in at Enrichment School.

Sky is the Limit

Unlike other schools with defined curricula, Enrichment School will teach as fast as the class learns and, so long as all basic course objectives are satisfied, will cover whatever material the class is most curious about. That said, the basic objectives are extensive and can be viewed in the course catalog.
